Does a Frameless Shower Match Your Remodel?

You know you want a new shower door but you’re not sure:

  • what type of door matches something you can be happy with for a long
  • and something that will match your budget

If you choose a cheaper prefabricated or framed door, it could be less expensive but it may lack the exact fit and aesthetic appeal of a custom frameless shower.

If you choose a custom frameless door, the initial investment could be higher but it could last longer and give your bathroom the luxury feel you’re craving.

If you can make the right choice for your shower you can love your bathroom at the end of your process, maximize your resale value, and guard against buyer’s remorse.

At Affordable Frameless we look at 3 Key Things to Identify if a Frameless Shower Door is right for your remodel:

  1. Where is the location of your plumbing?

Example: If your shower head is pointed at the shower entry or where the door would be then there’s a high potential for excessive water leakage. To fix this, you would need to make some adjustments to your plans.

Example: Where is your current shower valve? If it’s away from the entry, you might get wet every time you turn on your shower before the water gets warm.

  1. Do you have a shower curb that is sloped towards the shower drain?

If not, water follows gravity and could flow or drain outside of the shower. To fix this, your remodel would need to account for a sloped curb or floor.

  1. What surface materials will you be using for the surrounding walls of your shower?

If the walls are fiberglass or acrylic they won’t be able to support the traditional hardware of frameless glass. Other hardware options are available to accommodate these types of surfaces.

If the walls are Porcelain, Ceramic, Marble, or something similar they would have the strength to support your frameless glass and hardware.

At Affordable Frameless™ we’ve helped with thousands of remodels and know exactly when a Frameless Shower Door is right for your shower.

If it is a good fit, we can easily help you price and install the exact door you need for your space.

If it’s not a good fit, we’ll always recommend the right solution for you.

Many people believe that frameless shower doors are too expensive for their budget.

Or that prefabricated doors will match their vision.

We’ve found that the right customized Frameless concept can maximize your remodel investment and minimize your long-term maintenance costs.
